    Set varible voltage or arc selector on high. Some have numbers, some go incrementally from special applications to vertical & overhead to flat welding/large electrodes (thats the high end) It doesnt matter where the continuous range selector (amps) is set. The max OCV's at a certain rpm should be on the faceplate. Remember the max is what it is and seldom ever needed. Dont be afraid to slow it down some & save some fuel. Check your aux power volts as well. Below 100 will hurt some grinders. You will find that machine to be an excellent downhiller
