Ua 798

I am a current member of another UA local wondering if there is a way to go out with 798? If I can what would I need?

I'm going to say it would be nearly impossible rite now because theres nearly 3000 Welders/ Journeyman and Helpers out of work .

Well it is alot and they have most but not all jurisdictions. The pipeline and distribution work in Jersey is local 274 jurisdiction however our health and welfare and pension is 798 but they don't dispatch here off the wheel. Other states and or city's like Chicago or Milwaukee or New York City and others like California control that work. I doubt you could get a dispatch ahead of all the welders sitting 798 bench but you maybe able to work out of a building trades local with a rig . IMHO

I was wondering if building trades had rig work. No one i have asked seems to know.

Yes there are several locals around the country that have rigwelders. What local are you in and what kind of experience do you have?

I only have experience stick welding out of 521

I just heard last night Miller Pipeline is looking for rig welders in Cincinnati, Ohio. Do't know the extent of work.....
